On 27 June 2014, the official countdown to the 2015 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, which Singapore will be hosting, was inaugurated in conjunction with the opening of the newly-built Sports Hub. The celebrations concluded with an impressive seven-minute fireworks display over the nation's newest stadium, now dubbed as the world's largest free-spanning dome.
