EOS-1D X Mark III features a new image processor, DIGIC X, which promises excellent image quality. With DIGIC X, high-speed shooting and high-speed processing is possible at lower power consumption.

With default ISO speed of up to 102400 (expandable to 819200), the EOS-1D X Mark III is capable of advanced noise reduction, delivering clean and well-defined images even in lowlight situations.

The immense improvement in the AI Servo AF algorithm aids with face or head detection for high-precision subject tracking performance sporting events involving dynamic movements.

Best Movie Shooting Performance in the History of EOS Series

4K and HDR are the most common movie format standards today. Videos shot with the EOS-1D X Mark III are suitable for news reporting and also can be used to produce creative HDR video materials.

To effectively record footage in 4K and HDR, the camera must have the capacity to handle high volume of resolution and colour data. The EOS-1D X Mark III supports 4K UHD/DCI movie shooting with a full-frame sensor range and can also record in 5.5K RAW movie and Canon Log (YCbCr 4:2:2, 10-bit) formats.

DIGIC X is a newly developed image processor that is up to 3.1x faster than the image processor in the EOS-1D X Mark II. As a result of the processor’s high-speed capabilities, you can expect:

Live View Shooting

The EOS-1D X Mark III is equipped with Dual PixelCMOS AF, Canon’s unique autofocusingtechnology. This makes focusing and tracking withthe camera smoother and faster when shooting inLive View mode, a feature that is greatly usefulwhen shooting fast moving subjects such as sportsand wildlife.

Up to 191 AF points

Equipped with a newly developed high-resolution AF sensor, the number of AF points has been increased to a maximum of 191 points (up to 155 cross points). In addition to allowing the user to precisely select the desired AF point, subject tracking is also smoother and focusing accuracy is improved.

You can now maximise the 35mm full-frame sensor to enjoy wide-angle 4K video recording without crop at 60p/50p (NTSC/PAL). 4K video recording is supported by Movie Servo AF and electronic IS for more focused and stable footage.

For professionals, you can shoot in both 4K UHD (3840 x 2160, 16:9) for broadcast and the 4K DCI (4096 x 2160, 17:9) format for cinema.
